FishatAppleBoy

FishatAppleBoy

Colored Pencil project # 2 for my Illustration survey class. For this piece we were given 3 words, and two of the 3 words had to demonstrate morphing. My words were: Fish, Garment, and Cage.

This is actually a portrait of my real-life fiancĂ©. This is literally what he does in his spear time. orsomthingkindoflikethat.

Done with Prismacolor Colored Pencils on illustration board.

Colored Pencil project # 1 for my Illustration survey class. For this project our teacher wanted us to utilize a limited color pallet and re-create a scene from either one photograph or multiple photos merged together by the artist imagination.

For this image I used 2 stock photos:
One from: http://caoimhe-stock.deviantart.com/art/caoimhe-stock-42-21394194
And the other from: http://stockcity.deviantart.com/#/dw2mxz

I drew the image I wanted form the 2 photos  by hand on illustration board and used watercolor washes, Prisma Colored Pencil and a verity of different colored pencil techniques our teacher showed us. As you can see I took a lot of artistic liberties with both these images. That’s ok; the teacher encouraged us to think in different colors that what the images held.

MiraculousConception

MiraculousConception

Umm…This image was inspired by Waffleguppies's portal fanfic “Blue Sky” (on Tumblr), though the image itself doesn’t really have anything to do with her fic. I really doubt the possibility of her Wheatley being able to impregnate Chell. I just wanted to do something that emphasized the way he sees her as such a higher being; almost God (Goddess?) like.  I also wanted to draw Chell as an Art-Nouveau-Mucha-like goddess figure.

Yep…There was more I wanted to do with this picture, but I really need to get started on my homework. It’s been, like, YEARS AND YEARS since I last did any kind of fanart. That’s how moved I was by her story. I really recommend reading it, even if you don’t know anything about the portal universe. It’s a good heartfelt story that I feel can stand on its own without prior knowledge of the video games.

Pscs, x amount of hours.
Portal stuff belongs to Valve. Artwork by me.
