FishatAppleBoy

FishatAppleBoy

Colored Pencil project # 2 for my Illustration survey class. For this piece we were given 3 words, and two of the 3 words had to demonstrate morphing. My words were: Fish, Garment, and Cage.

This is actually a portrait of my real-life fiancĂ©. This is literally what he does in his spear time. orsomthingkindoflikethat.

Done with Prismacolor Colored Pencils on illustration board.

aBookonaBough

aBookonaBough

Colored Pencil project # 1 for my Illustration survey class. For this project our teacher wanted us to utilize a limited color pallet and re-create a scene from either one photograph or multiple photos merged together by the artist imagination.

For this image I used 2 stock photos:
One from: http://caoimhe-stock.deviantart.com/art/caoimhe-stock-42-21394194
And the other from: http://stockcity.deviantart.com/#/dw2mxz

I drew the image I wanted form the 2 photos  by hand on illustration board and used watercolor washes, Prisma Colored Pencil and a verity of different colored pencil techniques our teacher showed us. As you can see I took a lot of artistic liberties with both these images. That’s ok; the teacher encouraged us to think in different colors that what the images held.

Stock images belong to their photographers:  http://caoimhe-stock.deviantart.com/  and http://stockcity.deviantart.com/

MiraculousConception

MiraculousConception

Umm…This image was inspired by Waffleguppies's portal fanfic “Blue Sky” (on Tumblr), though the image itself doesn’t really have anything to do with her fic. I really doubt the possibility of her Wheatley being able to impregnate Chell. I just wanted to do something that emphasized the way he sees her as such a higher being; almost God (Goddess?) like.  I also wanted to draw Chell as an Art-Nouveau-Mucha-like goddess figure.

Yep…There was more I wanted to do with this picture, but I really need to get started on my homework. It’s been, like, YEARS AND YEARS since I last did any kind of fanart. That’s how moved I was by her story. I really recommend reading it, even if you don’t know anything about the portal universe. It’s a good heartfelt story that I feel can stand on its own without prior knowledge of the video games.

Pscs, x amount of hours.
Portal stuff belongs to Valve. Artwork by me.

MagicHat

MagicHat

Line-art project #2 for my Illustration survey class. The premise of this one was to take the word ‘magic,’ come up with an original idea and illustrate it with pure line-art (black and white, no tonal).

I’m not real happy with how this one came out, but I’m submitting it anyway to remind myself: “Hey, you should do better than this. Wtf is wrong with you?”

LineartProjectForMyIllustrationSurveyClass

A line art project for my Illustration survey class. The premise for this project was to create 6 separate pure line art (black and white, no tonal) illustrations of various creatures that share a similar theme. My theme was ‘creatures of the ocean.’

A non-existent-made-up-species-of-whale/shark/thingy...(what? the teacher never said they had to be real animals).

This ones's a Sea Turtle.

Here's a Leafy Sea Dragon , often mistaken for a sea horse.

a Hermit Crab. I made a collograph print for my Print Making class with a similar idea, but it didn't come out very well.

This is a strange species of octopus called the  Dumbo Octopus , they are curious looking creatures.

A simple jellyfish. I also did an alternative version of this one with a'bit of color:

All of these were drawn with pencil on tracing paper, then tweaked in pscs5.

uselessdi

Here, have a useless picture of Di in a hoodie with no pants:

It's not like I don't have homework to do...I just can't help but want to draw Ji or Di whenever I have stuff I need to get done. Besides, look how cute he is! dwaaaaa<3

faunfoxpipe

An old sketch from 2006 I colored for fun tonight.

faunfoxpipe

I have so many old doodles I want to color, but they’re so old I feel guilty for doing it;___;
I should just color them anyway because it’s good for Photoshop practice.

Right?

Right.

thetigersgarden

I think that'd be a pretty cool name for a folk/rock band.
...
And this would be a neat CD cover:
crayola pencils/sketchbook,
border and logo done in pscs.

skeletalHippogryph

This is a birthday present for my fiancé. He wanted a skeletal hippogyph. His birthday was in February, but I just finished it last night(imalazymofo).
Yes, the idea originated from WoW’s skeletal gryphon mount.
;B
The wings came out a little wonky, but the figure and the bg make me a little proud :)
I still need lots of improvement.

The hippogyph its self was drawn with pencil on computer paper. The wings, bg, colors and pretty much everything else is PSCS5. I used textures from CGtextures.com.

leavesonmydressNinthesky
An old sketch from last spring. Felt like coloring, so I fixed it up in pcsc for fun today. I'm thinking I should do something quick and easy like this in photoshop more often. It's good practice, besides, it would give me a reason to update my account more often.
Happy 2011 everyone! I hope it's a good year for art(:
